With this being said, what are WE doing to keep Cleveland in the game? Are there grants/opportunities to get curb side recycling back to Cleveland?

County-based recycling, composting will share grants
Feb. 17 -- County-based recycling and composting programs in Pennsylvania will share $20 million in grants, Pennsylvania Gov. Edward G. Rendell said today, adding he felt it was important for the state to maintain the landfill tipping fees that support the grant program.
The largest grant, $500,000 goes to the City of Philadelphia to help fund curbside recycling. Smaller grants include funding for rural areas to start yard waste composting programs and recycling drop off centers.
"When someone throws a bottle, can or newspaper in the recycling bin, they´re not only helping to protect our environment and preserve precious resources, they´re supporting an important industry," said Rendell. "Pennsylvania´s recycling industry is directly responsible for more than 52,000 jobs with an annual payroll of $2 billion; it also generates $20 billion in gross receipts. That´s a substantial impact that´s certainly worthy of the investments we´re making today."
A statewide Recycling Fund, supported by a $2 per ton tipping fee at all state landfills, helps support the recycling grants. The fee is set to expire at the end of this year; Rendell said he wants to work with the state legislature to extend the program.
