Local Supermarket Starts Composting!

Heinen's, a locally owned and operated grocery chain with 17 stores, has partnered with Rosby to begin composting food scraps in its Mayfield Village, Middleburg Heights, and Brecksville stores. The program, which started last fall, has been successful and the company plans to continue to roll this out to its remaining stores. CBC Magazine Features The Taylor Companies

The Taylor Companies, located in Bedford, Ohio, is the oldest furniture manufacturer and the 28th oldest family business in the United States. In their February 2010 issue, CBC (Cleveland Business Connects) Magazine placed the spotlight on the company for their sustainability practices. They have revitalized a 50-acre Bedford brownstone, use energy-efficient equipment, and have cut their natural gas consumption by 59 percent.
